Empal Gentong is a Cirebon origin food that well known throughout Java and even Indonesia, because it has different processing methods and flavors.
As the name suggests, Empal Gentong is processed by inserting various kinds of meat into the barrel to be cooked. The processing of Empal is still traditional, using a special firewood obtained from the mango tree, the aim is to give a special flavor to Empal Gentong. Empal Gentong is usually served with scallion and plus chopped dried chili pepper.
