Taronga zoo was established in 1916 at its picturesque harbourside location with stunning views over the water. Taronga Zoo Sydney’s stunning outdoor harbourside location lets you connect with over 4,000 animals from 350 species, and nature while spending quality time with your family and friends. Its conservation programs focus on the preservation and protection of endangered species.
Free daily presentations include a Free Flight Bird Show and the Great Southern Ocean exhibit, which recreates the natural habitats for a wide range of marine life. Visitors can touch and see the animals close up thanks to Zoo volunteers.
The zoo will teach you about its efforts to conserve wildlife and its role as a home for endangered species. You can walk through nine trails, including the Australian Walkabout, Kid’s Trail and Reptile World, African Safari, Big Cats Trail and many more.
