1. Monroe, Louisiana

Monroe is almost always ranked as the most dangerous city in America. If not, it is always in the top five. Monroe is an extremely dangerous city to live in, with the highest number of violent crimes in the country. Monroe crime has increased over the years. Only since 2020 have violent crimes increased by 5%. Indeed, homicides increased by 29% in 2020 alone.

2. Memphis, Tennessee

Memphis, like Monroe, has long been one of the most dangerous cities. Crime has risen dramatically over the last five years. In Memphis today, you have a 1 in 41 chance of being a victim of a violent crime. Similarly, being a victim of a property crime has a 1 in 17 chance of occurring.

3. Detroit, Michigan

For years, Detroit has been one of the most violent cities in the nation. As a result, there has been a lot of effort to make Detroit safer over the years, but the effort has not been successful yet. Hopefully, safety efforts will become effective and make Detroit a safer city to live in during a future period.

4. Saginaw, Michigan

Saginaw is much smaller than Detroit, but its crime statistics are not much lower. Saginaw is only safer than 6% of other US cities,  this makes Saginaw a relatively dangerous area to live in. The city's violent crime rate is 1 in 42. In Michigan, the odds of being a violent crime victim are 1 in 212.

5. St. Louis, Missouri

Your chances of being the victim of a violent crime in St. Louis is 1 in 50. In comparison, the chances of being made the victim of a property crime are 1 in 17.

6. Little Rock, Arkansas

The crime rate in Little Rock is much higher than the national average. Shockingly, Little Rock’s crime rates are about 186% higher than the nation’s average. Violent crime specifically is 377% higher.

7. Alexandria, Louisiana

The most dangerous part of Alexandria is in the metro area. This makes sense, given that there are more people in the metro. Violence and property crime are high in Alexandria. Alexandria has 83.8 times the US average of violent crime. This city's property crime rate is 95.4% higher than the US average of 35.4%.

8. Pine Bluff, Arkansas

 This town is consistently referred to as the “Most Dangerous Small Town” in the United States.  the southwest area of Pine Bluff, Arkansas is considered the most dangerous. Property crime is much higher in Pine Bluff than violent crime, like every other city on this list.

9. South Bend, Indiana

South Bend isn't one of our top five most dangerous cities, but it ranks high in homicides. Because of its high murder rate. Homicides average 6.5 per 100,000 people. 27.4 murders per 100,000 people in this Indiana town. This shows just how dangerous South Bend is.

10. Albany, Georgia

Albany, Georgia is the tenth most dangerous city in the United States. Almost 1500 violent crimes were reported in the metro area alone in 2020. As a result, this city's crime rate is 161% higher than the national average. You have a 1 in 22 chance of being a victim of a property crime in Albany.
